The aim of the study is to assess the proficiency level in writing of the first year students of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges for school year 2013-2014. Specifically, it sought answers to the following queries: 1. What is the profile of the first year students of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges in terms of age, gender, high school graduated from, and family's montly income? 2. What is the written language proficiency of the BSIT freshmen students along the following domains: structure, organization, style, and conventions? 3. Is there significant relationship on the written language proficiency of the BSIT freshmen students when grouped according to profile? 4. What Manual for Guided Writing can be developed based from the findings of the study? 5. Is the Manual for Guided Writing developed curricularly valid?
