This study determined the relationship of nurse-doctor collaboration and perceived safe quality care rendered to patients in a private tertiary hospital. Specifically, this study answered (1) the level of nurse-doctor collaboration as perceived by the nurse and doctor respondents in terms of Knowledgeable, Perception, and Experience, (2) the patient respondents' perceived safe quality care as rendered by the nurse and the doctor, and (3) the significance between nurse-doctor collaboration and perceived safe quality care rendered to patients. The researchers utilized quantitative-descriptive method of research to carry out the objectives of the study. Non-probability sampling, particularly purposive sampling was utilized as the sampling technique. The research instruments used are Self-Made Questionnaires which contains fifteen (15) statements about Knowledge, Perception, and Experience of the nurses and doctors and fifteen (15) statements about the patient's perceived safe quality care rendered to patients by nurses and doctors which were validated and tested for reliability. Statistical treatments used were Weighted Mean, Standard Deviation, and Pearson's R or the Correlation Coefficient. The actual data gathering was conducted at the selected private tertiary hospital on August 2011 to September 2011. The researchers gave the instruments to 40 nurses, 40 doctors and 42 patients selected as respondents that fitted the study's set criteria. From the data that were gathered for statistical analysis, results show that (1) there is an overall high level of collaboration to nurses and doctors in terms of Knowledge (x : 4.46), Perception (x : 4.45) and Experience (x : 4.27) with a (2) with highest mean of 4.66, there is a high safe quality care (x : 4.39) rendered by both nurses and doctors, and (3) there is a significant relationship (r value: 0.0418; Sig: 0.007) between nurse-doctor collaboration and perceived safe quality care rendered to patients in a private tertiary hospital. The researchers therefore concluded that (1) the nurses and doctors have a good working relationship in terms of knowledge, perception and experience. They collaborate well in caring for their patients. (2) Furthermore, the patients feel that they receive a safe quality care wherein they are secure with their health when they feel that nurses and doctors works well in caring for them. (3) Therefore, a good working relationship of nurses and doctors is important in rendering safe quality care to patients. Based on the findings and conclusion of this study, nurses and doctors are recommended to have a good collaboration in order to provide a safe quality care to their patients.
